My name is Laura Sterritt. I’m a transmedia writer who loves music. I believe transmedia storytelling can sustain musicians financially as the industry changes, as well as strengthen their artistic message by extending it across other platforms.
If you’re also into this fairly specific interest, you’re in the right place! I will be covering and commenting on any transmedia music news, and writing longer case studies on musicians effectively using multiple platforms or new methods of fan engagement.
I previously worked at Weekly World News as the Content Production Manager, where I created and edited daily stories, as well as managed the overall world and its characters. I am now an Editor at Starlight Runner Entertainment, the leading transmedia production company, with all around nice guy Jeff Gomez and the rest of my Starlight family. I work on existing intellectual properties, helping owners understand the story they own and how to expand it out, as well as developing original transmedia franchises.
I graduated from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University, and currently live in Brooklyn.
